Hot 100 Days of Summer Official Contest Rules
May 25, 2013- August 3, 2013
 
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR TO WIN.  A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING.  ALL FEDERAL, STATE, LOCAL AND MUNICIPAL LAWS AND REGULATIONS APPLY.  VOID WHERE PROHIBITED.
 
1.       Contest Description.  Hot 100 Days of Summer the “Contest” is sponsored by Summit Media, Inc. /Summit Media -Richmond, 812 Moorefield Park Drive, Suite 300, Richmond, VA 23236, Sponsors and will be conducted by Sponsor’s WHTI-FM.  The Contest begins at 12:01 AM (ET) on Friday, May 25, 2013 and ends at 11:59 PM (ET) on Friday, August 3, 2012 (the “Contest Period”). Sponsor will be the official timekeeper for the Contest. By entering, each entrant accepts and agrees to be bound by these Official Rules.
 
2.       EligibilityThis Contest is open only to legal residents of the state of Virginia who are 21 years of age or older at the time of entry. Employees of Sponsor, WKHK-FM, WKLR-FM, WHTI-FM, WURV-FM, or of any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents, and advertising and production agencies, and Corona, Gold’s Gym, TGI Fridays and any other advertising partners for the contest, and the immediate family members of, and any persons domiciled with, any such employees, are not eligible to enter to win. Employees and immediate family members of other radio companies including Clear Channel, Mainline and Radio One, are also not eligible to enter or to win. The term “immediate family members” includes spouses, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. Semi-Finalists must be present to participate in the Finale Event on August 4, 2012, as described below in these Official Rules.
 
3.       How to Enter. From May 25, 2013 to August 3, 2013, the Station will conduct various “Summer Survival Kit” prize pack contests. Entry deadlines may vary depending on the contest method (see below for details).
 
A maximum of one hundred and sixty-four (164) entrants will win a qualifying prize pack and have the chance to win the Grand Prize. To win the chance to participate in the Finale Event, you must first become a “Qualifier” as detailed below. No more than one hundred and sixty-four (164) Qualifiers, as follows:
 
On-air: Beginning Friday, May 25, 2013 and ending Friday Aug 2, 2013, tune in to Sponsor’s Marino in the Afternoon broadcast on WHTI each weekday (Monday-Friday) from 10:00am to 7:00pm. Contesting will be conducted twice a day each weekday, the Station will announce the cue to call-in  for a chance to become a Qualifier. When you hear the cue, you must dial the WHTI Contest line at 804-345-1009 to try to be the 9th caller. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, the 9th person to call the Station’s Contest line, as solely determined by Sponsor, will win a qualifying prize pack and become a Qualifier.
 
Telephone calls will be taken by Contest operators in the order they are received, and the operators will count the number of calls received after each on-air cue to determine the 9th caller. The determinations of Sponsor and Contest operators will be final and binding in all respects.
 
Listeners accessing Sponsor’s Station audio via IP connections like website-based streaming or mobile devices are welcome to enter. However, Sponsor cannot be responsible for delays in electronic transmission of Station audio to IP devices. By entering this Contest, listeners acknowledge and agree to this specific provision of these Official Rules. In addition, Sponsor will not be responsible for loss of service to the Contest line or for a participant’s failure to reach the Contest line due to malfunction of any network or system, congestion, any technical or human error, failures or malfunctions of any kind, including the congestion, overload, busy signals, or any other factor that may prevent an individual from completing his/her phone call. In the event of interruption of power or telephone service to Sponsor during a call-in period of the Contest, the call-in period affected by the by the interpretation may or may not be replayed at the resumption of service, in Sponsor’s sole discretion. If a 9th caller is ineligible, or fails to comply with any term or condition of these Official Rules, that caller will be disqualified. Any telephone calls placed to the Sponsor call-in line may be recorded for use on-air any time.
 
A maximum of ninety-four (94) Qualifier will be selected via this entry method.
 
Online: Enter by visiting the Station’s website (hot1009.com) and click on the “contests” tab to connect to the Contest registration page. Complete all of the required information and follow all posted instructions. On or about each Monday during the Contest Period beginning on Monday May 28, 2013, Sponsor will select one (1) potential prize pack Qualifier winner in a random drawing from among all eligible entries received. Entries for the online weekly contests carry over from week to week. Listeners are limited to one (1) entry per person via this method of entry.
 
By submitting your online entry in the Contest, you agree to be bound by Sponsor’s Visitor Agreement and Privacy Policy, which are hereby incorporated by reference and are posted on www.hot1009.com
 
The use of multiple identities and/or accounts is prohibited and any attempt to obtain more than the stated number of online entries will void that participant’s entries and may result in participant’s disqualification. Incomplete, altered, automated, mechanically-reproduced, lost, late, misdirected, garbled or illegible entries will not be accepted. Sponsor will not be responsible for failure to receive online entries due to transmission failures or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any network, hardware or software, whether originating with sender, Sponsor, or Sponsor’s Contest application service provider. In the event of a dispute, all entries will be deemed to have been submitted by the owner of the ISP account from which they were sent, provided that such person satisfies all other Contest eligibility requirements. For these purposes, ISP account holder shall mean the natural person assigned to such ISP account by the Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization responsible for assigning ISP addresses for the domain associated with such ISP account.
 
All entries become property of Sponsor and none will be returned. Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted or the owner of an ISP account will be determined by Sponsor in its sole discretion, and Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entries by persons who submit false or misleading entry information or who Sponsor determines to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Contest.
 
Potential Qualifiers will be notified on or about seventy-two (72) hours after each online weekly contest at the telephone, email or postal mail address provided on the potential Qualifier’s entry form. In order to be declared a Qualifier, you must respond to Sponsor’s notification within forty-eight (48) hours of notice or attempted notice. Sponsor’s inability to reach a potential Qualifier, return of any notification as undeliverable and/or a potential Qualifier’s failure to timely respond to notification may result in that Qualifier’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in a chance at the Grand Prize, and the selection of a substitute Qualifier from among all remaining eligible entries.
 
A maximum of tent (10) Qualifiers will be selected via this entry method.
 
On-site Registration Contest: Sponsor also will select additional Qualifiers as designated WHTI “Street Hit” event help at various locations during the Contest Period. These “Street Hit” stop locations will be announced on-air and/or listed on www.hot1009.com, prior to each on-site registration contest. Check the website and listen daily for “Street Hit” event locations. To register at a WHTI “Street Hit” stop for a chance to become a Qualifier, fill out an official registration for or hand print on a 3” x 5” note card or piece of paper your full name, date of birth, address (including zip code), and day and evening telephone numbers (including area codes). Deposit your completed registration from in the designated official registration box at the “Street Hit” location. Limit one (1) entry per person at each “Street Hit” on-site registration event. Sponsor will randomly select one (1) potential Qualifier from the eligible entries received at each “Street Hit” stop. Potential prize pack Qualifier winners will be notified within one (1) week after each “Street Hit” event at the telephone number provided on the potential Qualifier’s registration form. In order to be declared a Qualifier, you must respond to Sponsor’s notification within forty-eight (48) hours of notice or attempted notice. Sponsors inability to reach potential Qualifier, return of any notification as undeliverable and/or a potential Qualifier’s failure to timely respond to notification may result in that Qualifier’s disqualification, the forfeiture of his or her interest in a chance at the Grand Prize, and the selection of a substitute Qualifier from among all remaining eligible entries. No purchase is necessary to fill out any register to win form at any “Street Hit” stop location. A maximum of fifty (50) Qualifiers will be selected via this entry method.
 
Facebook: Listeners will have the opportunity to enter the contest via the HOT 100.9 Facebook fan page (facebook.com/hot1009. Listeners will have the option to “click” a HOT Beach House/Corona graphic which will direct them to a hidden contest page on HOT1009.com. Upon arriving at the hidden contest page listeners will be asked to submit a photo of themselves with a Corona, Corona Light or Corona Extra, a Corona Point of Sale display (locations will be published at hot1009.com) or a picture of the contestant making their own beach, in other words with beach related items i.e.: at the pool, with a beach towel, with a beach umbrella, in a swimsuit, etc. All photo submissions must be suitable for a general audience. It can not contain any nudity, sexually explicit, disparaging or any other inappropriate content. What is deemed inappropriate will be determined in the sole discretion of Sponsor. A winner will be chosen at random each week. There will be a maximum of 10 qualifiers selected via this entry method.  The Contest is not sponsored, endorsed or administered by Facebook, nor is Facebook associated with the Contest in anyway. You understand that you are providing your information to Sponsor and not to Facebook. Any questions, comments or complaints regarding the Contest must be directed to Sponsor or Sponsor’s administrator, and not to Facebook. 
 
Each qualifying prize pack is named a “Summer Survival Kit.” The prize pack includes varied prizes from the Contest Sponsors. Each winner of a qualifying prize pack is qualified to win the Grand Prize. Each qualifying prize pack has an estimated retail value of $80.00. 
 
 
All entries become the property of Sponsors, and Sponsors reserves the right to use any information submitted by entrants.  Entries must be filled out completely and legibly in order to qualify, and will be void if they are, in whole or in part, incomplete, illegible, damaged, irregular, counterfeit, altered, or obtained through theft or fraud.  No mechanically reproduced, software-generated or other automated multiple entries are permitted.  Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, illegible, misdirected or mutilated entries, including due to transmission, technical, and/or network failures of any kind, including, without limitation, malfunctioning of any hardware or software (whether originating with sender or Sponsors), human error, or any other error or malfunction.  Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void.  Any questions regarding the number of entries submitted by an individual shall be determined by Sponsors and it will their sole discretion, and Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any entries by persons determined to be tampering with or abusing any aspect of the Contest.
 
The Semi-Finalists and Grand Prize Winner Selection Process
From the 164 qualifiers, WHTI will randomly select 20 semi-finalists on or about Aug 2, 2013.
Sponsors reserve the right to disqualify any potential Semi-Finalist that is determines, at its sole discretion.
 
These semi-finalists will be chosen and notified by phone by 5:30PM Aug 2nd, 2013.
 
These semi-finalists must attend the Finale Event on or around August 3, 2013 at the location announced by Sponsor (it will be in the Richmond Metro Area). Each Semi-Finalist is responsible for obtaining the location of the Finale Event, which will be posted on www.hot1009.com and broadcast on-air beginning on July 17th 2013. All Semi-Finalists will be responsible for transportation to and from the Finale Event. The 20 semi-finalists will need to arrive and check-in with a member of the WHTI staff by 9:30 PM. The WHTI staff will conduct a reverse drawing to determine the Grand Prize winner. The finale will take place between 12M-1AM.Each Semi-Finalist must personally appear at the Finale Event by 9:30pm to be eligible. A Semi-Finalist’s failure to attend the Finale Party Event and/or register with WHTI staff by 9:30pm may result in immediate disqualification. Semi-Finalists must appear in person – no proxies are permitted.    
 
Each of the contestants will have their name printed on paper and inserted inside an envelope. Each envelope will go into a basket, where they will be shuffled. All contestants will be called to the stage. A member of the WHTI staff will draw the first envelope. The name of the person inside will be eliminated from the contest. This will continue until there is one name remaining in the basket. The last contestant will be considered the Grand Prize winner.
 
If no winner is determined by this contest, through human error, all names will be placed back into the basket and one envelope will be drawn at random, determining the Grand Prize winner.
 
WHTI will announce the Grand Prize winner after the finale party on August 3, 2013. The winner will be announced on-air, online and at Facebook.com/Hot1009.
 
A SEMI-FINALIST IS NOT A WINNER OF THE GRAND PRIZE UNLESS AND UNTIL SPONSOR HAS COMPLETED ITS VERIFICATION OF THE SEMI-FINALIST’S ELIGIBILITY.
 
4.       Grand PrizeThere will only be one Grand Prize winner. Subject to verification of eligibility and compliance with these Official Rules, the Grand Prize winner will receive one week’s rental at a vacation property in Nags Head, NC. The rental period is tentatively scheduled from August 19-26, 2012. The Sponsor reserves the right to change the date of the rental and the location of the rental property. The Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize, in which case a prize of equal or greater value will be awarded. No prize may be exchanged, transferred, or assigned by a Grand prize winner. Approximate retail value of the Grand Prize is $7,000.00.
 
If the Grand Prize Winner cannot stay at the Grand Prize vacation property during the specified rental dates, then he or she forfeits the Grand Prize. Grand Prize Winner and his/her guests will be solely responsible for travel to and from the property in Nags Head, NC and any other expenses and incidental travel costs. Grand Prize Winner will not receive any credit or cash for any unused portion of the Grand Prize.
 
5.       Receiving the Grand Prize. In order to receive the Grand Prize, the winner and his or her 7 guests must sign a liability waiver by 5:30 PM August 15, 2013. The winner must check-into the property rental office by 4:59 PM on August 19, 2013. If the winner does not check-in by this time, then he or she will forfeit the prize. The winner and all guests of the winner must be 21 or older in order to stay in the rental property.
 
6.       Odds of Winning. The odds of being selected as a Qualifier prize pack winner depend on the total number of eligible participants who enter the Contest, and upon the number of eligible participants who enter through each entry method. Only one (1) qualifying “Summer Survival Kit” prize pack shall be awarded per person. The maximum estimated odds of winning the Grand Prize, once selected as an eligible Qualifier, are 1 and 164. No more than one hundred and sixty-four (164) participants will become Qualifiers. 
 
7.       Conditions of Acceptance of Prize.  The Grand Prize Winner agrees to assume the responsibilities described in Paragraph 5 and 6 above.
 
The winner must also agree to have two (2) WHTI employees stay in the grand prize beach house from August 24-26. One bedroom with 2 beds must be reserved for their stay.
 
IN ADDITION, IN ORDER TO RECEIVE THE GRAND PRIZE, THE POTENTIAL GRAND PRIZE WINNER AND HIS/HER GUESTS MUST PERMIT SPONSOR TO BROADCAST LIVE FROM THE GRAND PRIZE BEACH HOUSE ON AUGUST 24 AND 25, 2012 OR ON SUCH OTHER DAYS AS DESIGNATED BY SPONSOR IN ITS SOLE DISCRETION. GRAND PRIZE WINNER AND HIS/HER GUESTS MUST CONSENT TO RECORD AN INTERVIEW WITH SPONSOR ABOUT HIS OR HER VACATION AT THE GRAND PRIZE BEACH HOUSE. THE INTERVIEWS MAY BE AIRED BY SPONSOR, IN WHOLE OR IN PARRT, ON SPONSOR’S WHTI STATION AND/OR ON SPONSOR’S WEBSITE. (SPONSOR SHALL HAVE THE RIGHT, BUT NOT THE OBLIGATION, TO BROADCAST AND/OR OTHERWISE USE THIS FOOTAGE.0 IF THE POTENTUAL GRAND PRIZE WINNER IS UNABLE OR UNWILLING TO PERMIT SPONSOR TO RECORD PART OF THE GRAND PRIZE EXPEIRENCE, HE OR SHE MAY BE DISQUALIFIED, IN SPONSOR’S SOLE DISCRETION, AND A SUBSTITUTE POTENTIAL GRAND PRIZE WINNER MAY BE CHOSEN BY A RANDOM DRAWING FROM AMONG ALL REMAINING ELIGIBLE SEMI-FINALISTS.
 
In addition, the Grand Prize Winner must provide the Sponsors with a driver’s license or other appropriate government-issued picture identification. The winner must take possession of his or her prize by 4:59PM on August 19, 2012 or the prize will be forfeited.  Winner may waive his/her right to receive a prize.  The prize is non-assignable and nontransferable.  A cash equivalent will not be permitted. Prizes and individual components of prize packages are subject to availability. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value. 
 
The Grand Prize Winner must complete an affidavit of eligibility and a liability and publicity release (except where prohibited by law), which must be returned to the Sponsors within one day of being declared the winner, or within such other timeframe as is specified by the Sponsor. The winner and guests must also sign an agreement accepting all responsibility forany damages to the property. The winner and guests must agree to follow any rules set forth by the property owner/ rental agency. In addition to the winner’s age requirement of being 21 years or older to participate in the contest, the guests of the winner must be 21 or older in order to stay in the rental property. Guests must also sign a liability waiver by August 15, 2012.
 
Failure to timely sign and return the affidavits and releases, or to comply with any other term or condition of these Official Rules, may, in the Sponsors’ discretion, result in a winner’ s disqualification and the forfeiture of his or her interest in the prize.  The Grand Prize winner and his/her quests must sign any forms that the property owner/rental agency may require.. Any prize not won and claimed by an eligible winner in accordance with these Official Rules will not be awarded and will remain the property of the Sponsors. Grand Prize Winner is solely responsible for reporting and payment of any taxes on the Grand Prize. Grand Prize Winner will be required to provide his/her valid Social Security Number to Sponsor for tax purposes and/or complete an IRS W-9 form in order to claim the Grand Prize. Grand Winner will be solely responsible for all federal, state and local taxes on Grand Prize value and, as applicable, will be issued an IRS Form 1099 based on the Grand Prize value determined by Sponsor.
 
8.       Publicity Consent.  By participating in the Contest, each Qualifier, as well as the Grand Prize Winner, consents to the publication of his or her name, likeness, image, photograph, voice and/or biographical information by the Sponsor in any media, for any commercial or promotional purpose, without limitation, review or approval, or further compensation. The Grand Prize Winner of the Contest also agrees to make himself or herself available upon reasonable prior notice by Sponsor for interviews, appearances, and for other advertising and promotional purposes. Grand Prize Winner acknowledges and agrees that these activities may be videotaped or otherwise recorded by Sponsor. Grand Prize Winner consents to such recording and use by Sponsor of any recorded footage. Grand Prize Winner further agrees that Sponsor shall exclusively own all rights, title, and interest (including, without limitation, all copyrights) in and to any recorded footage.
 
9.       Release. BY PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST, EACH PARTICIPANT AGREES TO FULLY RELEASE, FOREVER DISCHARGE AND HOLD HARMLESS SPONSOR, COX MEDIA GROUP, LLC, COX ENTERPRISES, INC., AND ANY ADVERTISING PARTNERS FOR THE CONTEST, AND THEIR RESPECTIVE SUBSIDIARIES, AFFILIATES, SUPPLIERS, DISTRIBUTORS, ADVERTISING/PROMOION AGENCIES, AND PRIZE SUPPLIERS AND EACH SUCH COMPANY’S OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, REPERSENATIVES, AND SUCESSORS AND ASSIGNS (COLLECTIVELY, THE “RELEASED PARTIES” FROM AND AGAINST ANY CLAIMS, COSTS, LIABILITIES, LOSSES, INJURIES, AND DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF THE CONTEST, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, ANY CLAIMS OR PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, OR DAMAGE TO OR LOSS OF PROPERTY, LOSS OF ENJOYMENT, RIGHTS OF PUBLICITY OR PRIVACY, DEFAMATION, PORTRAYAL IN A FASLE LIGHT, OR ANY OTHER HARM WHATSOEVER ARISING OUT OF: (1) PARTICIPATION IN THE CONTEST; (2) THE QUALITY, RECEIPT, POSSESSION, USE, OR MISUSE OF ANY PRIZE; OR (3) ANY TRAVEL OR ACTIVITY THAT IS RELATED TO THE CONTEST OR ANY PRIZE.  
 
 
Sponsor’s Reservation of Rights.  By participating in this Contest, entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and decisions of the Sponsors and the Contest supervisors and administrators designated by the Sponsors.  In the event of a dispute, all decisions made by the Sponsors are final and binding.  Sponsors reserve the right, in its sole discretion, to disqualify any person who tampers with the entry process or the operation of Entry Websites or who otherwise acts in violation of these Official Rules.  Sponsors further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to cancel, terminate, or modify this Contest if, for any reason, the Contest is not capable of completion as planned (including, but not limited to, for the following reasons:  infection by computer virus, technical corruption, force majeure, or non-authorized human intervention that compromises or affects the administration, fairness, integrity, security, or proper conduct of the Contest).  The Sponsors will not be responsible for typographical, printing, or other inadvertent errors in these Official Rules or in any announcements or other materials relating to the Contest. The Sponsors reserves the right to modify the Official Contest Rules, providing that the amended rules are published on the website www.hot1009.com or made available in person or by mail at 812 Moorefield Park Drive, Suite 300, Richmond, VA 23236. Construction.  The invalidity or enforceability of any provision of these rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.  In the event that any such provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable, these rules shall be construed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or unenforceable provision were not contained therein.
